Your Fourth Step Free

Under an initiative of the Most Eminent First Grand Principle in 2019, any Master Mason of twelve months or more, Worshipful Master or Past Master may petition and join a Royal Arch Chapter and be made a Mark Master Mason with no requirement for a Chapter to pay capitation fees for that brother for a period of two years, or until that brother decides to progress in Royal Arch Masonry and takes his Excellent Degree.

As such, your Chapter will not charge you any Chapters dues for two years if you join and remain a Mark Master Mason. (Note: a joining fee still applies). At the end of the two years it is completely up to you whether you continue your journey or remain a Mark Master Mason and resign from the Chapter. Either way, you will, under arrangements made between the First Grand Principal and the Grand Master of the Western Australian Constitution, still be entitled to wear your Mark Master jewel when in a Craft Lodge.

“The Mark Degree is such a unique ceremony.

Take it and you will understand the argument for why it rests in the Craft Lodges of the Scottish Constitution.

But by taking the steps beyond that degree you will begin to understand the Mark Degree’s place and importance to Royal Arch Masonry and your own Masonic journey.”
